A New Age

Well I’m excited to say that Age of Metal is finally here. This is of course an early version of the game, there’s still plenty to be done. If you haven’t heard of us: Hi, we’re Hacks and Slashes and we’re a little trio of friends who are TTRPG enthusiast who decided they’d have a bit of fun making their own games and trying to share them with people. But with only three of us our talents and manpower are limited, so you’ll quickly see that the graphic design element of Age of Metal’s books is severely lacking. I plan to work away at adding little bits of art here and there to liven things up and tidy any issues people bring up with layout, clarity etc. so over time things will hopefully look a bit prettier. If there’s enough interest in the game, maybe we can see about finding someone with proper knowledge and skills in those areas down the line but that’s for another time.

Obviously this is an entirely new and unheard of game for all of you out there, the success of games like DnD comes from the masses’ familiarity with the fantasy genre making it easy for them to connect with the games and their environments. Going into the biopunk genre with Age of Metal that familiarity is not something on our side. While we’ve tried not to overstep with the setting and made contemporary storytelling an easy option that won’t stray far from the familiarity of the real world, there are still plenty of new elements, mechanics etc. to deal with, so we want to make this as easy as possible for anyone and everyone. If you feel there are sections and rules that lack clarity or that could be helped along by having examples or step by step breakdowns, let us know so these hurdles can be overcome.
